H2TECHNOLOGY
Consortium

Headquartered in Houston,Texas, H2TECHNOLOGY helps Italian companies specialized in
hydrogen technologies to develop their business globally and access the hydrogen supply chain in the
North American market.

It is founded by Italian business partners, with the common goal of enhancing their relationships, years of experience and their network in order to promote and assist Italian companies.

Hydrogen

Hydrogen is the first element of the periodic table and the oldest and most abundant element in the universe.

.75% of the mass of the universe is composed of hydrogen, but free hydrogen does not exist in nature.

Extracting hydrogen from water is the only way to obtain it without releasing CO₂ into the atmosphere and molecular hydrogen (H2) is one of the most effective systems for storing energy produced from renewable sources.

Vision

Hydrogen will impact the entire energy system, including intermediate applications such as industrial production and final applications such as transportation and heating. The hydrogen solutions are there: mature, safe and ready to be implemented on a large scale. The launch of the H2TECHNOLOGY Consortium is supported by a network of Italian and American stakeholders, that are fully aware that strengthening ties between the US and Europe will be a key for the success of these technologies in the next decade.

Mission

H2TECHNOLOGY aims to create a unique supply chain environment, in a B2B context, to bring together technology and solution providers for the production, transportation, storage and distribution of hydrogen. H2TECHNOLOGY provides the Italian and US business environment with the tools to create infrastructural ecosystems of technologies and knowledge aimed at the global transition to the hydrogen economy.

Across the United States, numerous hydrogen projects, research activities and business opportunities are underway. Companies, governments and researchers are working to harness the power of hydrogen. As the country continues its journey towards a clean energy transition, hydrogen will be key in providing solutions to achieving climate goals, while creating new jobs.

Texas – Houston in particular – is becoming the center of a global hydrogen industry: the local sector turnover is expected to grow by 45%, to nearly $200 billion in 2030 (Source: P&S Intelligence). Houston, formerly the capital of the oil industry, is now home to 48 plants that produce more than a third of US production, mainly used by refineries and industrial plants.
